Retired, live on Oregon Coast, married 4 grown, 3 grand, 2 schnouzers, so far 6 quilt tops, one completed with free-motion as of end of first year with sewing machine. Viking Diamond. Still afraid of the speed in embroidery.
Hello Paula! Thanks for writing! You're so lucky to have other quilters to be around. A quilt camp sounds like great fun! Even though we have a few quilt shops around here, there isn't much going on. I guess I assumed they'd all have classes and such, but the only one that has any kind of retreat is over an hour away and their retreats last three days and cost a pretty penny (which I can't really afford at this time). That's why I'm really liking this site. There are quilters from all walks of life and that makes it really interesting. I joined this site back in April and I've been here ever day! Of course I don't use facebook or anything else, so I have time to visit regularly. Brrrrr....it is soooo cold today! I always procrastinate turning the heater on, but I think I'll give in here in a minute. Seems like we had summer one day and fall the next. Plus it's been raining two days straight so that cools it down as well. I want to move south....far south! Like San Deigo! Actually, my dream spot is Santa Fe, NM. I went on a vacation there and fell in love with it. Of course I fell in love with Hawaii too when I was on a vacation there, but when we moved over it was a totally different story. NOT the same Hawaii as a vacation!
So, are you working on any projects at the moment? I'm trying to finish a table runner to put in my Etsy shop, which is practically empty. I've just not really been in the mood; all that's left is the quilting and binding and I hope I can get myself to finish it soon because it's an autumn theme. Then I want to make a Christmas table topper. I used to make lap sized quilts the most, but during the holidays I tend to work on smaller projects for gifts and selling.
Well, thanks again for writing! I hope you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!
Hello! I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside; where are you? Seaside doesn't have a guild or any quilting groups, so I joined this site in hopes of meeting other quilters. Do you have a guild or group in your area? I really feeling like I'm missing out, but this is the nest best thing. At first I had a hard time meeting other quilters, but once I joined some of the groups it was much easier; everyone is so friendly and helpful! I belong to Newbies, piecing, machine quilting and a few others.
