Big storm Wednesday night, but it surely cleared the air, the humidity is blessedly low finally, the temperature is perfect and the sky is blue.    What more could anyone ask for??

I look at all the new sewing machines and I drool, but I resist.   I have a perfectly good machine that does all I need It to do.   And since I'm retired now and on a fixed income I need to watch my spending.   But I certainly do drool a lot.

I thank God that I have quilting to keep me busy.   If I didn't have that I'm not sure what I would do w/my days.  Especially in the winter when I can't be out doing any gardening.  But the pleasure I find in quilting, the friendships I have made and the time spent doing something I truly enjoy is a true blessing.    To all the beautiful quilts and quilters out there, thank you for the joy.

Brenda, I don't know how you manage w/o AC.   We didn't have central AC, so we go window AC's and put them in every year.   Yes, the light bill is awful, but I just couldn't stand the heat!!  I'm a weakling I guess, LOL!

I am waiting for a storm to clear the air here. The weather people keeping promising rain and a drop in humidity, but so far that has eluded us. We don't have air conditioning, so it is a bit of a challenge to stay cool.

I can do a little sewing because I have a ceiling fan but eventually it doesn't cool me off very well. So those 17 or so UFOs are not being progressed on.

My 9 yr. old grandson helps me garden occasionally and as he says "gardening is hard work".  I agree.   And yes, I look forward to winter too for the very same reason!!

I'm just learning to garden now, at 52, and I'm looking forward to the long days of winter when quilting is all I can do.  And I doubt you can beat you beloved machine.
