i love yard sales & estate sales & flea markets ...love'em! the hubs tho, is OBSESSED with'em lollol! he more & more frequently is sent off a'sale'n alone. it really can get to be just too much! too much time away from my sewing & gardening and reading and my quiet time. weekends i rest or do for my personal pleasure. no kids around to herd & feed..just the fuzzies, and they don't take to herding.
in recent months, tho, with the onset of yard sale etc season 2013, i… Continue

sitting here with my usual morning tea. wrapped in old "quilt" from goodwill.
reading quilt blogs...
i have stated rather often how much i enjoy reading anything historical. about anything. quilting, steam engines, geography, native american migratory routes/reasons - pre-european invasions.... this mornings' fare has allowed me to wander thru quilting blogs w sidebar links to reproductions of antique cross stitch samplers, interior decorating with junk, even found a couple more… Continue

A blog about making my own stencils.
Commented on a the discussion “calling all hand quilters”. I replied to a few comments actually. One of the comments was from a quilter re: issues with finding quilting templates, had found some online to order ..but as she stated, the shipping on some things just doesn’t factor well when you look at the smallness/lightness of the item and the dollars they want to ship it. Not the sites’… Continue

one of my remarks re: the creativeness of quilters recently received a response to the effect that we should use it as a logo on a shirt or banner. well...i wasn't being my usual flip self. we quilters are creative. we 'make' things. and many of us have been 'making' things since we were small. i do not think that i would be out of line saying that creative people have creative children. how many of us have… Continue
