A Jarring Moment of Self Doubt...then back to work on the 12 Christmas Quilts

Well, the weekend in Chicagoland for my dad’s 80th birthday is behind us and the weekend in Baltimore with George’s 92 year old aunt is coming up.  I was able to finish the top of quilt #5 Wednesday night before we left for the trip west and I have been busy cutting out the block work for quilt #6 (tentatively called Santas on Parade) and quilt # 7, official pattern name “Lady of the Lake” (my own name for it yet to be determined).  So even though we are traveling tons of time…

4 am

I have been awake since 4am every day this week. I have so many things I want to sew and no time for it. This is newsletter week...www.notionnanny.com/newsletter.html.. and I have to stay focused. But all I can think of are all the things I have seen this month that I HAVE to make. I will be so relieved when Saturday is here and the beast and little beast (my sewing machines) and I can get back to normal.

My night began as any other normal weeknight.

Come home,…

Emily's 2nd Quilt

My daughter-in-law finished her 2012 BOM!  She brought it over to show me after she picked it up from the quilter.  There was a bit of trouble with the borders but I am so excited for her to push on and finish!  It is big enough to go on her bed so she had a lot of fabric to push through her machine.  I am so proud of her!  The setting of the blocks was something we found online so she kind…

Mystery quilt

I have finished the mystery quilt and am quite happy with it. I plan on giving it to our best friends who were our Best Man and Maid of Honor. They celebrate their 50th anniversary in July. Ours is this month. Congratulations to all of us for beating the odds. LOL

The quilts are back

While I was helping my son and his family move across the country this past week, my hubby picked up my quilts up from my quilter.  She did a wonderful job once again!

You can see my one block that I made when I thought I was going to use this layer cake as a sampler quilt.  I decided to use up every last bit of the cake by…
