Welcome back Patricia.  Hope you enjoy working in the patchwork and quilting shop.  I think I would, but probably wouldn't make any money.  Would spend it on fabric.

Hi ..thank you for the friend invite. I am honored. Your quilts are beautiful, but what I enjoy the most about them is that you take on difficult/challenging patterns & succeed so beautifully.

Hello Patricia

I  love  love all of your quilts-BEAUTIFUL- you should be very proud of what you have achieved with these wonderful creations.I love to look at other  quilting & sewing ladies creations- perhaps that is why I am chief steward at our local show. The talent that is out there never ceases to amaze me.You have 4 children as well- how on earth do you manage to fit it all in?

In July I will be 50 and I plan on ignoring the day...hopefully everyone else will too!

You are so lucky you have a guild to belong to!  I live in a very small town and there are no guilds, quilting groups or classes; which is why I joined this website.  I'm tired of being a lone quilter!  I can't believe how many people I've met already and everyone is so helpful!

You know, I always preferred traditional quilts, and I said I'd NEVER make an art quilt.  Well of course, never say never!  I started making quilts for http://www.alzquilts.org/ and the size requirement is only 9"x12" or less.  I really wanted to make quilts to donate to them, but I couldn't do minature patchwork, so I was kind of forced to try out more artsy kinds of quilts.  The size is perfect for trying out new techniques.  The only thing is, it seems like a lot of art quilts use applique and I'm just not good at thinking up my own designs.  I design most of my traditional quilts, but when I try designing an art quilt I feel like a writer does when staring at a blank sheet of paper!  I really love machine quilting and I've used that as a main theme for a few of my art quilts, but mine seem to be more abstract than realistic.  I want to make things that look real, if that makes any sense!  What kinds of things do you work with for art quilts?  Do you paint or dye your own fabric?  Have you ever tried Paintstiks?  Those are fun!  I'm still experimenting with them and haven't used any of my projects in a quilt yet.  I know with art quits there are so many techniques to try and things to use, so I'm curious about what kinds of embellishments you work with.

Thanks for writing back!

Happy Birthday, Patricia!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside, Oregon with my husband of 28 years and our beagle, Mackenzie.  I started quilting about 6 years ago and like most quilters I'm totally hooked!  The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know!

I'm so glad I found this site because I'm having lots of fun meeting new people.  I hope you'll post some of your quilt photos soon...one of my favorite things to do here is view all of the wonderful quilts!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and happy birthday!
