"Riana, thank you for sharing your memories with us, especially your MIL and your FIL. How lovely that they had such fulfilling long lives. My sympathy to Dave on the loss of his mother.
You sparked my memory too. I remember having…"
"Glad that you are back, Deanna. The baby quilt that you showed us in progress is looking very nice - such soothing colours!
Riana, here in Ottawa everything was closed yesterday except the grocery stores. Today I have to go out to buy…"
"That's a nice name, Ginny. I sewed two long rows of blocks together wrong. It took me an hour to make the mistake and take it all out and then another hour to correct it. Anyway I have just one long row of blocks to sew…"
"I don't think that you have to buy the library in Tiny Town. I think that the librarian gets a lovely house nearby gratis. It is included in her salary and benefits. Did you want to live in the attic?"
"Mary, did you keep your notes from the QAYG class? Did you have students put their blocks right sides together and sew a 1/4"seam and press, then trim the batting so it buts and then turn 1 side of the backing 1/4" under and pin on…"
"Riana, I am O.K. with only 1 fireplace but I was thinking 2 chimneys - 2 fireplaces. Santa might come down each of them, thinking he had to leave presents in each room. I would have 2 Christmas trees and hope he would leave me different…"
"Barbara, The quilting is beautiful on your Log Cabin. Is the quilt spray basted! I didn't see any pins.
We're watching a comedy on Netflix called "Dead To Me". It had caught my eye as being nominated for some…"
"Yes, Melanie, if you want to avoid any hand stitching Riana's way is better. I hosted a workshop on QAYG quilt for QOV at my condo a few years ago and the instructor folded a larger seam on the 1 1/2" strip and glued it down and then…"
"Hi Melanie, I love to QAYG! I sew the block. Cut the backing and batting an inch bigger than the block all around. I used spray adhesive to put together each block with batting and backing and when I ran out I just put them…"
"Hi Kris, I love the quilt that you made for your step-daughter. QOVC uses that pattern for QOV. It is called "Bento Box". It is a good quilt for our soldiers in red and white with 1 yellow square in the centre.
I got new…"
"Today we ran out of milk (will have to use powdered milk for our 2nd cup of coffee) so we will combine our outside walk with a trip to the drug store after lunch. I might even forego my nap to see our PM on the hot seat this afternoon on…"
"Thank you, Riana and Linda. Yes, Riana, my daughter's best friend asked me for a baby boy quilt and I told her that I had the panel and would make a quilt for her. She will pick it up along with the Christmas Tree Quilt I made for…"
If you downloaded the pattern from her blog, it should be a file on your computer and you can just attach the file to an email. Otherwise, if you scan it to your computer, again it will have a file name and can be attached. I'm not in any hurry to start...so many other things to do and my good machine is in the shop. But thank you so much for helping me out!
The "wood grain" quilting sounds interesting, can't wait to see the whole quilt done.Remember l signed up for the free online longarm class? lt said for best results, use a computor ( instead of tablet etc.) , so l closed it, deciding to use computor later. Now it won't come up.l wonder if there was a time limit.l wish l'd taken it on the tablet, even if not as good as on computor.
Smart idea, about the mug rugs...l would never have thought of fabric gluing...l'd have probably gone to snipping/pulling out the poor handwork , washed & redone w/machine. Not likely a" profitable" use of time:)
