"Melanie, if I were you, I would try Riana and Barbara's recommendation to try the Blue Dawn spray and then wash the quilt. But, of course, when Riana tells me to do something, I always follow her guidance!
I once did a house block swap…"
"See, Riana, I'm on the right page!
Barbara, your house would take up an entire quilt not just a block! This is getting to be a fun project.
I'm machine quilting my Bear Quilt - a combination of straight line and free motion. I…"
"Thank you, Riana and Mary. I can start on your homes now that I know your colours. Here is a 6" Capital T block and a large 2" scrappy block. I started out using the fusible interfacing from Joan Ford to make the 9…"
"Mary, your thought made me think of a project - a Happy Homes mini quilt with all our names on the house blocks and we'd all be neighbours! I saw the pattern yesterday on FaveQuilts. It would be the Pieceful Neighbourhood."
"Zoe, you have been a busy bee! Love the pillows and pillow cases. That was an awful experience to have a reaction to a medication - it would have scared me! I've never been tested for an allergy but I have a rhinitis…"
"I realize from the projects we undertake how very different we are. I admire you, Mary, so much. I could never devote so much time and energy to your tapestry as you do. It would be too frustrating - I do better with fast and…"
"I have just the opposite kind of husband as Barbara and Mary. Doug is a neat freak! He makes his side of the bed as soon as he jumps up and out. He wants everything in its place all the time. Over time he has cured me of lots…"
"Kris, I think it is O.K. to stop working on the GWS this year. I also stopped working on one of my quilts once the top, batting, and backing were ready because I do not have access to a big enough table to sandwich it. Your GWS top is so…"
"Hi, Riana, I can't envision what you are going to do in the corners. Will the bottom corners be fitted? You can take a photo when you have them done, please.
I'm sewing the last 4 rows of my CTW 2. I'm going…"
"Zoe, pillow top is very nice - black is so sophisticated! When I was in my early teens I wanted to wear black but my family did not allow it. My grandmother thought I should wear beige, her favourite colour. My mother favoured…"
"O.K. Riana, I understand what you are doing on top. You still have to make shams. What about in the 2 bottom corners? I see print squares. Are they staying there?
I'm on my way to M&M to get enough frozen food for…"
If you downloaded the pattern from her blog, it should be a file on your computer and you can just attach the file to an email. Otherwise, if you scan it to your computer, again it will have a file name and can be attached. I'm not in any hurry to start...so many other things to do and my good machine is in the shop. But thank you so much for helping me out!
The "wood grain" quilting sounds interesting, can't wait to see the whole quilt done.Remember l signed up for the free online longarm class? lt said for best results, use a computor ( instead of tablet etc.) , so l closed it, deciding to use computor later. Now it won't come up.l wonder if there was a time limit.l wish l'd taken it on the tablet, even if not as good as on computor.
Smart idea, about the mug rugs...l would never have thought of fabric gluing...l'd have probably gone to snipping/pulling out the poor handwork , washed & redone w/machine. Not likely a" profitable" use of time:)
