Hi Carmen.  Love the idea of words in place of the geese.  The original didn't have anything between the blocks.  Would love to see what you come up with.

I've seen the shadow blocks, used mostly in organized order.  I like the randomness of the size in this one.  I am making a photo quilt for my nieces' graduation.  Thinking of using words related to school, activities, family, friends in place of the geese.  This is really cool and caught my eye immediately.

I had a picture of a quilt to go by that was the blocks.  I added the migrating geese.
