Hi Michele - I was curious and looked up Rixeyville, such a pretty area.  I love the Blue Ridge and the foothills.  Yep, the Internet is a great way to learn (and meet people from all over).  I teach quilting online.  And, I, too, am pretty much self taught (but quilting way over 2 years!).

I thought I would join and say hi to all of the Virginia quilters. I live in Rixeyville and I was born and raised in Virginia. I have been quilting for about 2 years and I am hooked! I am pretty much self taught, thanks to the internet. It would be nice to meet some fellow quilters.

Harriet,  I live in Milford, PA - in the northeast corner of the state (near the NY and NJ borders.  I still drive to Richmond often, getting on 95 from 17 near Fredericksburg.  You live anywhere near there?  Maybe we'll meet in person sometime.

Although I live in PA, I'm from VA.  I still go to Richmond often.  I'm curious to see what goes on in the quilting world in VA.  I used to live in Va and went to the very first (an more since) Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival.
