If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Well, Pjam, anyone who's had them knows we need encouragement to finish some of them, ( be it because of time constraints, a "brick wall" in our artistic direction, of we just aren't happy with it) even if you don't work on any, you can always be a cheerleader to the rest :)

Roflol, I  actually guessed that right (but didn't  want to ask it that way around) for the WIVSP.

I totally agree Riana re karma....I'm  not a religious person, but I  absolutely believe that you reap what you sow.

I am very excited to tell you guys I'm  embarking on a new quilt, about 50" square.  It's  going to be a mandala type design.  I'm  making it because I was invited to enter a quilt in Quilt Canada,  so keep your fingers crossed for me that it'll  turn out fabulous :)

It's  kinda funny I  joined a UFO group,  at a point in time that I  have NO time for UFOs

Mary, l love the colours you picked to do the New Yr. mystery...but can't decide which l like best.

Linda, the bad Karma those folks are stirring up will end up biting them in the butt, mark my words!

Sue, it was nice to see you posting again...caught up at work now , l hope?

Poor Molly. She endured 85 ° weather for several days with long yesterday we got her clipped. Today started near freezing before warming up, so we had to put on her coat for a walk again...she wasn't happy about that!

Hi, Pjam, l too was born in the Netherlands. l live in Ontario, south of Kingston ( well, 8 mo. of yr., anyway...we're presently in Florida.

In case Rogue is busy researching the history of yet another quilt, :), heh, heh:), the WIVSP = work in very slow progress. You see, when she first joined us, she really had no ufo's, just got asked to join by friends discussing various other topics. But since then, some of our bad habits have rubbed off on her, and l think she may have at least one bonafide ufo by now, along with those slow-going projecys.

Pjam, I'm so glad you asked Rogue about her WIVSP.  She and the others are always using acronyms that I keep forgetting.

Think I will stay with #4...but would like to try the pattern again and make the nine patches and thin strips float better.  Solids??

Hi !  Rogue I  have a question for you, and please excuse my ignorance:  what does WIVSP stand for...that's a new one for me.

linda, this sounds like your friendly to the neighbor cop & friends turned you in to adult protective services, prob with the hope that they will remove you from your unsafe solitary living situation. reason being that you are mentally incapable of caring for your self or your property, pet and personal affairs. sounds like you got thru to those two caseworkers. they must have been handed quite the tale of a raging, angry woman who has hallucinations. I don't understand why there would be two interviewers sent to meet one person.  ...hope more legal help is on the way. maybe contact that lawyer who is dragging waffle-ly feet and have him talk to these two women.

I am right now using my new windows 7 os to read and comment for a little while. when I ordered my custom build pc the guy & I discussed the pros & cons of 8 vs 7. we both decided 8 is c**** and I went for 7. am liking it. a lot different organization from my xp, lots & lots of fluff stuff that I am deleting. told him on phone yesterday that the builder didn't do the clean install that I had asked for. we are thinking it is just fluff stuff that ms is now including with the new operating systems. I had asked that office be installed along w the new os & they didn't because the cost for the office suite is over 200$. that would have put the build waaayy over the budget we discussed.  I was working w installing old office files and nothing works. I could use open office but I have had no luck w it reading any office docs. so, tomorrow I will go in and retrieve my cd folder of install cd's that I forgot to get when I picked up the new pc.

Mary - #4

Saw a comment about making a list of our UFOs. Is there a limit how long it can go? Mine is very, very long. I have always put everyone first and not done any of my own for years. So this year is my year. I even turned over the reins of the quilt group. Now I just need energy.

Microsoft is changing their logic too. I had to get Word and Excel with my new computer. It's now called Office 365 and you rent it for $9.99 per month + tax for life. You use to buy the package for $100. So I think now it's a ripoff.

Today I got a visit from 2 ladies from Adult Protective Services. They asked me all the normal questions about mental health. No I do not want to hurt myself or anyone else. No I do not hear voices in my head just the ringing of my ears. No I do not see things or imagine things. Yes I know the definition of hallucinations. No I don't have hallucinations. Is the "harassment" affecting me in any way? Well, duh, YES!! I'm tired of hearing her yelling all day, of her being on my property whenever she pleases because she thinks "no trespassing" doesn't apply to her. I'm sick of her and her cop boyfriend doing it on my ramp all night long and yes I've caught it on tape. Yes I've called the police but they won't come out because I imagine things they said and they will not give me a restraining order because in their words "I;m crazy". Why do I turn my sewing room lights on at night facing out? Because they are reaching up and turning off my motion light and unscrewing the bulb by the back door thinking my camera won't see them. They don't know it is infrared. My security  firm told me to turn the lights on like that. May they call my doctor? Sure call all 8 of them I have nothing to hide. They will tell you my health if failing and I have better things to do than put up with a harassing neighbor. Like quilting for charity, I still keep in touch with my shut-ins in AZ, talk to my AZ caregiver every single day, and I have Indy to care for. After they left I got a call from one of them and she is closing her file on me. She said in spite of no support from family and friends here, I'm doing remarkedly well. The other one was so furious when she heard about the neighbor because she said does that person know she can cause you to have another stroke or worse. And I said if you tell her, she will probably laugh, just like when she tells her dog to attack us. She said WHAT? I have witnesses. She said I think I know who has the mental problem and it's not you. Thank you Lord Jesus!!!!!!

Well, you are a very welcoming group !!! And I  thank you for that ! I feel like saying group of ladies,  but I  wouldn't  want to offend any possible gentlemen that may belong as well.

Deanna: I  am originally from Holland,  but am now a Canadian and have lived in Southern Alberta (to the North of Montana) since 1977.

it is very cold here at the moment as well and we had 1/2 foot of snow overnight.

I love winter, but not the driving that it presents....fortunately  I  have only a 2 minute commute :)))

Mary ~~ what a wonderful quilt .. I am leaning to #4 too .. the others are good too, but I like the geometric that pops out there ..

Welcome Pjam ~~ where are you from ?

Checkin' in from work today ... am finding I am having a lot of eye strain so my sewing time isn't going as planned in my mind when I get home.  The phone rang so much yesterday that I still heard it all the way home.  And in my dreams .. and it was downright FRIGID overnight ~~ everything is frozen solid ! even the chickens food ~~  hahahaha

Back to the computer ...
