thank you Rogue. I will photo mine and show you guys tonight or tomorrow. I have not trimmed them up though. mine are smaller but just as beautiful. maybe even more so. my Aunt is now thinking she might keep the red work (LOLOLOL)  and do her daughter one in emerald green which is her favorite color.

hi all ..just sneakin' around evesdropping for a bit, then back to life's little realities.
carla - the redwork blocks are gorgeous. on ipad zoom i checked them out & noted that they are machine not hand. i couldn't do that even of a satin stitch by hand, and i am very good (persnickity lol). in my quilt group meeting room there is a redwork wall hanging. i looked at it seversl times ..no giveaway satin stitch & i finally asked another group member ...machined redwork is so lovely it's dificult to tell the difference between it & hand stitched. kudos to you & your aunt. i like the burgundy better too, tho when i was a little girl i thought the bright red i used in my redwork embroidery was my fave :)) and tell your aunt i second your motion on the red & white irish chain ...that's what the wall hanging in our meeting room is & i sooo want to do one. but w hand embroidery lol!
..went on personal guided tour of local fire ravaged mountains given by my Dear Darlin' Hubby this morning after breakfast at our friends cafe that was destroyed the last time those hills burned. burn area extends from yakima in west to near nuclear reservation in east ..prob 40~ miles. DDH had to find alternative routes to work last monday as all roads closed due to the largest wildfire that was burning in 7 western states. but he made it. said the flames all around, thick choking smoke was intimidating ..but he made it. our Angels were watching over him.

Lisa, I would love to take credit for hand work but this is machine embroidery. Its for my cousin but I got a set too, smaller and on the deep burgundy color I love zoo much.

Just the same it will be beautiful. I was helping my Aunt and told her to do a red Irish chain around it. So I showed her what to do because she is new to quilting. She loved it and is working on it now.

Beautiful! You know how I love hand work. I just pulled a piece of needlework I was doing many years ago so when Olympics are on I can stitch it. I'll post when done
