Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I'm having fits working on a very small paper pieced wall hanging. Eighteen pattern pieces to replicate nine times. Problem is, the foundation blocks are not straight rectangular pieces, so no simple measuring and cutting. Some of the pieces are wider on one end to give the block a misshapen look (for whimsy I guess) and I've never done paper piecing before.
I'm a new member of this forum, living in Richmond, Virginia. I'm working on a Thanksgiving table runner. I just finished an appliqued lap quilt which I'm sending to my mother's best friend in Germany. She recently fell and broke her hip but is recovering nicely from hip replacement and is still doing rehab.
I noticed a couple of references to a quilt show in Fredericksburg. Can anyone tell me where and when it is?
I live in Forest VA. Unfortunately I am working on healing from Thumb surgery. Ooooh la la no picnic for sure but outcome looks good , been a long time since I have been able to work without discomfort. I'm dedicating 12 weeks to recovery, so far only 9 weeks and two days to go. My last quilt was a special queen sized quilt for my brother who is battling lung cancer. He is an avid hunter and horse lover. I had to search the internet for fabrics for this quilt. Not many western fabrics available in VA. By the time I finished there were over 200 different fabrics including embroidered horses.
