UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

My new dishes!  The cups and saucers are left from my old set.  They weren't used much.

I did a couple of hours of ironing downstairs this morning.  And I'm back to my priority - Tulip Twist blocks now.

Some times the "ugly" or what was I thinking fabrics supply just the right look.  I've done that and wondered why I thought it was ugly.

Good luck with your Pansy Garden Linda.  I know it will be beautiful.

Kris, that's a beaut! Such a rich set of colours , and stars are some of my favourite designs.

Zoe, when you're auditioning fabrics, throw a couple of " weird" colours you wouldn't normally chose on the pile of fabrics and see what happens. Often small amounts of fabrics that we thought would " clash" or " not go with _____" are just those that give your quilt the sparkle!

Beautiful quilt, Kris!

I've started my Thimbleberries pansy garden quilt. I'm on block #3. I can't afford to make any mistakes. I cut this out years ago and I don't think there's any extra fabric anywhere. I learned with block #1 that it requires slightly less than 1/4" seams to make the block size. Did a lot of ripping on that block....LOL!

Thanks for telling the story of this quilt, Linda. What a wonderful treasure to have made for her.

Kris, the Tapestry Quilt looks so beautiful with the borders!  You must be so happy to see it going together.

Happy New Year!  I started working on my Tulip Twist today.  I had to figure out how I left it and get back in the groove.  I made a major mistake on 1 block and I had to use another piece of beige for the background - I don't have any extra yardage, just the fabric that comes with each block.  But maybe I won't have to use that block in the quilt as I have 3 extra blocks.

My son and my DIL will be coming to pick us up at 4:00 P.M. to take us to dinner at the Mandarin - my favourite restaurant which will be extremely busy today.

New Year's Resolution # 1  Let's all stay as healthy as we can.  Do not drink that whole bottle of champagne alone. Hugs all around.
