UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Unfortunately, I did take Mary's lead and cleaned up the room where I store all my books, fabric, UFO's, etc.  It looks great, but now I have plenty of more space to fill up.. lol

I think I'll follow Mary's lead & straighten out my sewing room.  I finished sewing the quilt top for the Block Buffet mystery, so I expect it will become another UFO for me to finish here.  Rainbow Rotini is starting, so I'm on to my next project.  And, I signed up for a Lone Star Quilt class next week, so there's my next UFO.  After digging through my stash for these 2 quilts, I'll really have a mess on my hands.  I'm both awed & inspired by Beth's accomplishments!  I can't even imagine quilting 7 quilts in 1 weekend, even if some are small.  Congrats!

It was a productive weekend, I got seven quilts quilted, one customer, one full size, and five small wall hangings.  It was productive quilting, now to do the binding.  I am going to get the smaller wall hangings done, but leaving the larger ones for someone to do for me.  It will work, My carpel tunnel is acting up now anyway and holding to do bindings is hard enough.  I am working on a class table runner that is just giving me heck.  I am trying to downsize the pattern from a full size quilt to just a table runner and trying to get the fabric requirements is a bummer.  I never realized how hard that would be.  It is a Bits of Bargello pattern, love the pattern, but did not realize how difficult it was going to be.  Definitely not a beginner project and not sure can get done in three hours.  I do not want to send people home with an UFO.  Oh what to do?  Any suggestions?  I do not have a photo of it because I have not finished it totally.  If I was not teaching this class, I would put it into a UFO stash.  I may only make one of the 18" blocks which is doable, then put something on the ends to frame the sides.  Wish I had a photo for you all.  Maybe tomorrow I will.  Sewing 3/4" bargello strips is not easy.  Amazed I have done it before on a Heart Bargello.

All I can say is wow. My sewing room looks lots better. This group is really working on me. I have been feeling like I need to finish something soon.

So maybe now i can get my act together and get some UFO's done.

Today I don't seem to be making any progress on my ufo's. My sewing room is better though and less dusty. You can actually see the carpet and not just in spots.

either one..I do binding sometimes for one of the local quilt shops..

I'm serious it is only the quilting part of it that I have difficulty with..lol

For you or for me?

You have no idea how tempting that is..I don't mind binding part at all

Comment by Beth A. North on January 18, 2012 at 2:17pm

@Julie - Well send those tops over to me to finish the quilting part and then I will send you mine to bind.  Between the two of us, we can finish something.
