UFOs

If you're a REAL quilter, you have at least one UFO (unfinished object) and one WIP (work in progress) stashed in the closet or stacked on a shelf. Maybe you just need quilting suggestions, or maybe a fresh eye from a new online friend can help with block arrangements. How about a UFO swap? Any UFO conversation is welcome.

Good job, Kris.

Zoe, the table runner, and the quilt right below it were both made from scraps I already had.  The placemats started as a kit for a set of mug rugs.  I bought extra fabric, and expanded them into placemats.  Some of the left overs from those ended up in the scrap quilt!    Both casserole carriers are also from scraps.  I like using them up!

Kris, you have been busy! Everyone is going to love their gifts!

Kris, I love the quilts you made up, well everything really.  I love the idea's. This year I want to start making scrap quilts, just to use up my fabric, but I think it would be fun too.

Making progress on all those Christmas projects.  Finished, wrapped, and sent off in the mail today a set of placemats, a table runner (or in this case, and on top of piano runner!) and two crib quilts.  Included is a crocheted purse with a doll in it, and the purse folds down into a cradle.  The doll comes out, is dressed and has a blanket.  Didn't get a picture of that one, but here's the rest.

Finished a casserole carrier, too.  Still working on another carrier, and some hot bowl holders.

Wilma, your sister's about to " unretire" you! Lol.

Zoe, Yahoo has absolutely nothing to do with My Quilt Place...but if you use Yahoo for your email, you may find a change in your notifications, but only if their email services are effected by changes too. I have belonged to at least one Yahoo group in the past, and the moderators switched us over to " pro boards" because of hacking problems. The proboards was set up entirely differently, and wasn't very " photo friendly". This site is not affiliated with either...at bottom of page, you will note it is " powered my NING" and is createc by American Quilter's Society.

Zoe, I believe the Yahoo Group is separate from MQP.  Several groups I belong to through Yahoo have switched over to iOS.  It actually is better.

We had a pretty good day yesterday, quite busy.  My sister makes really cute crocheted blankets with applique animals on them and animals, like bears, etc.  Will have to find a picture and post.  I sold a lot of slippers and a few pair of socks, plus a lot of little things (lavender sachets, pillow liners, etc.).  I have repeat customers who love house slippers and cannot find them anywhere.  Sister said she wants to do it again next year...hmmmmm June is decision time.  Hubby does the books, etc.

it is a small town feel, and at 4:30pm the parade starts and I swear everyone is either in the parade or sitting around sidelines.  Boulder City was the big deal during the building of Hoover Dam.

I think that's a question you need to ask Yahoo.

I don't know where to ask this question, but I saw this on email, " Dear Group Moderators and Members,

Last month we notified you of the changes coming to Yahoo Groups that better align with user habits, and today we are providing an update to guide you through the next steps of the transition. Yahoo Groups is not going away - but we are making adjustments to ultimately serve you better. We are amazed at the vibrant community you’ve created through Yahoo Groups and we want to make sure you feel supported as we introduce these changes.

The following changes were made since our last communication:

  • Users can now only join a Yahoo Group through an invite or group request approval by the Group Moderator.
  • New Groups can’t be public. They can only be private (not listed in Groups directory, membership by invitation only) or restricted (listed in Groups directory, membership requests must be approved by a Group Moderator).
  • Members must share all content via email, and can no longer upload or host new content on the Yahoo Groups website itself.

The following changes will be made on December 14, 2019:

  • Public groups will no longer exist. All existing public Groups will become restricted Groups that require Group Moderator approval to join.
  • Any content that was previously uploaded via the website will be removed.
