for those of you who don't care for blackeyed pea's this should do the trick. you can still get them into your new year meal and it just a chip dip but it really delish!.

had to go check out the texas tornado cake. hubs said it probably has whiskey, jalapenos & gun powder as main ingredients ... nope! it looks and sounds delicious ..gonna have to try this one after all the apples are gone. hauling two Fresh Apple Cake's down to hos dad for snacking while i'm quiltin' & yakkin' & munchin on beans, slurping coffee with my friend couple towns away. :)) so thanks for the yummy!! lookin' link carla!

by the way...it IS delish!! I have had it many times.

i collect old cookbooks. this recipe is in one fr about the 40's. used to make mountains of cookies every christmas for gifts. this one is a favorite. fantastic tasting cookie!
