We have just over a month until the Quilt expo in Raleigh. Who is planning on attending? I am planning to attend with my quilting girls from my crafting group. Maybe those of us from here can meet up at some point and say hello!

Hello Sue!  When are you planning on going?  Are you taking any classes?  I did last year, but I think I'm just going to go for the day (likely Thursday) to view the quilts and shop.

Great! I will plan to go on Thursday and hopefully we can work out a plan to meet!

What are the dates? I might be able to go, however, living on the coast makes for a long drive.

It's June 20 - 22.  Here's a link to the site:  http://www.sewingexpo.com/RaleighNC.aspx

We are planning on going on the 20th which is Thursday. I am not planning on taking any classes, just looking at the quilts and shopping I think.

Me too.  That's my current plan.

Hello, I'm new to the group and this will be my first time at the expo. I just plan look at quilts and shop also. Any suggestions on the best day to go and where to park? I would love the chance to meet you!

Hi Kathleen! This is going to be my first time a the expo too! I am going on June 20th...the Thursday. I don't know much about the expo except for what I have read on the website. It would be nice to meet you there!

Kathleen,  I'm going on Thursday, too.  Last year I stayed overnight and parked in the garage to the convention center.  I was pricey!  If anyone knows a better place to park, I would be interested to hear it.

Hi Jennifer! I was wondering the same thing. I had heard that the Convention Center parking was pricey. We don't usually go downtown during the week so I don't know much about where to park. On the weekends you can find free parking in many areas but that doesn't help us for the expo. :-/

I know it.  I don't think there's any free parking downtown during the week any more, but I don't want to use a meter, either.  I'd rather use the garage.  I think it's $12.00 per day for the Convention Center garage.  I don't know if it's worth it to park somewhere else and walk or not.  The last time I went to the Science Museum I paid $7.00 to park in their lot for just a few hours.

I looked into parking online...apparently the City of Raleigh has a parking brochure... anyway, all of the parking garages are 12.00/max a day so we may as well park in the Convention Center garage.
