Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
although it is not midnight I AM up and awake. It has been an awful last 3 months I just found that there is nothing else that can be done short of surgery to relieve my pain. I have a compression fracture in my lower back and my sciatica is pinched.the pain when I try to walk is awful. so I am down more than ever. and so goes life. thank god for my quilting it keeps me sane. although I get so bored. I am here by my self for about 20 hours a day. the days get long.I have watched so many murder shows on tv I am bored with it. I am going to do Barbara Brackmans civil war block of the month. along with my little brown bird quilt. I have the center done and ready to put together. and about 3/4th of the border this quilt has a border that is taking more time than the middle. all the embroidery and the little leaves and berrys. almost 1000 little 1/2 inch leaves and almost 400 little stuffed red berrys. Is going to be a challenge to quilt. will be so glad when it is done I have come to hate it. want to do something else but am commited to getting it finished I have worked on it for a year.
I wish I had someone close to quilt with. my best friend now lives 50 miles away we quilt together but by phone. I have been teaching her to aplique and she is getting good. after knowing her for forty years she decided to learn to quilt a couple of years ago and she is doing very beautiful work.
I guess I could learn to talk to myself but I here how I sound when my bird repeats what I say and I sound like a shrew. so that's out and she wont carry on a conversation with me. and I have never learned Siamese so cant understand this cat life is so hard.
guess I will go laydown for awhile sitting in a chair is also painful have a blessed quilting day Dottie
Hello Dottie, good to hear from you. So sorry to hear of your troubles. Will pray for you. If I were closer I would love to come visit and see all your wonderful quilts. I am about 75 miles from Cornelius.
Dotty, do you think you can set your computor up to skype? That way you can see them while you talk to them, almost as good as being together in person. One of our Canadian members sews handwork and teaches her friend in the next province. l'm sorry you feel so lonesome. Do you live in a town, or in the country? Is there a neighbour or church member whom you could call & invite over for a chat?
You always have us! Your quilt sounds fantastic, but if you're really sick of working on it, l think you should take a holiday from it to do a small thing like a purse or table runner.
