This swap is for (12) 12 1/2" blocks of any type of heart/s.  (You need to start with a 13" x 13" piece of fabric)

We are looking for bright, unusual, colorful bohemian type hearts.  They can be patchwork, pieced, applique, embroidery, whatever you like.  Just make sure that the heart is centered on the block.  The heart can be any size.  They can be embellished with lace, rick-rack, or anything else as long as it can be sewn through when quilted.  When sewing is completed, you will cut the blocks in half and send in 6 rights and 6 lefts.  You will get back 6 rights and 6 lefts.  These you will then sew to the 6 rights and 6 lefts that you kept.  You end up with 12 blocks, half with your heart and half with the other participants.

We are looking for blocks that represent you.  Maybe you have horses, and your blocks all have horse fabrics, or maybe you are a Star Trek fan, or you love jigsaw puzzles and you do crazy block hearts.  It is all up to you.

The standard swap parameters apply of course.  And don't forget to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to get your return blocks.

Blocks will be due to me by February 8th.  (Just in time for Valentine's Day)

If you have any questions, just let me know.  Thanks, Kathy G.

Thank heavens I enjoy snow.  But even with that I love every one of the hearts I received.  You all did a beautiful job girls.  Now all I have to do is find my hearts-I've stuck them away and can't remember where I stashed them.  Oh the pleasures of aging of the mind!  LOL  Thank you again to Kathy for hosting us, very much appreciate your handling our group!

Chris, I believe Maine is my favorite vacation spot.  We used to go there often before we moved to SD.  I have been both along the ocean and inland and have always had good memories of those times.  Of course I have never been there for mud season or black fly season or for winter, but what are those inconveniences compared to beauty, puffins, and blue berry pie?  I am glad to know you are back home and you have grandchildren there.

I received my hearts yesterday they are great! Now I wish I had time to sit and see them. I’m trying to finish house projects before family is here for the wedding. I did manage to tackle some yard yesterday just to get out as hubby was very sick(missing work does not apply to this guy)

Good luck with all those pre-wedding “honey do” items.  Hope your hubby feels better.  The hearts are great.

Ok I played with the hearts last night.  Moved them around several times.  Here is where I am now, I think I might NOT use washing as they look nice butted together....thoughts?  Maybe I should move around more fir better distribution of large and smaller hearts???

Yes, Lisa.  I hope your hubby is feeling good again and I hope the time filled with family and friends is outstanding!

It is going to be fun seeing everyone’s hearts once they are quilt tops.

I am liking those hearts, Wilma! Fun.

Those look great!

This looks so happy, Wilma! I like the graduated size from small to large, but shuffling the sizes would be good, too! I don't think you can go wrong however you choose!

I just love the bohemian, hippie look of these hearts.  I know this type of swap is not everyone's cup of tea, but it sure has been fun.  It's great that everyone's quilts will look so different, depending on how they put their blocks together.  Thanks again ladies, it has been lots of fun.

And, though this may sound a bit goofy/sentimental, I like that we each have a tiny bit of each other’s hearts.
