This challenge will have ZERO swapping in it. It is strictly created to try to get some finishes on our swap blocks! You may join in at any time and you can finish any number of quilts or other projects you wish in each quarter but the hope is to complete at least one each quarter!
Here is how it works:
* sign up quarterly. This will prompt you to have accountability!
*make goals!! Be willing to post your goals each quarter and do your best to follow through!
* choose your blocks for the quarter! It can be blocks we have swapped or even ones you have just had setting around forever!
* be prepared! Whether it is scrappy or perfectly chosen have it ready to go. Choose a setting!
*share ideas to help others move forward! Sometimes the hardest part of this is deciding on a setting. Let's help each other by sharing ideas!
* be prepared to post progress and hopefully pictures if you are able!
* the main goal is to get all the way to a finished quilt!! Binding and all! Or if you prefer you may use the blocks to complete some other project such as table runners, place settings or bed runners.
But even if you are only able to get to the quilt top stage at least it's not a pile of blocks!!
************** HAVE FUN!! *************
This is the main thing! When it stops being fun you stop making progress! Lets keep it fun. You never know I may add prizes in here at some point!
I would be interested, Connie.
So I was thinking pieced blocks with the ‘30’s retro fabrics with a solid off white background like perhaps Kona snow or an equivalent. What do y’all think?
Love to do this, Connie. Please include me. I am loving doing Uneven Nine Patches right now. Or maybe Ohio stars. As soon as you say this is a go, I will start looking for Kona Snow or whatever for background.
I have this fabric that I have never done anything with lol.
Connie, I don't have any 30's reproductions. I have some Jo Morton Civil War Reproductions and shirtings for backgrounds.
I think that could work. I was trying to get a consistent color theme. As long as we all use the same solid color background it will be very pretty :)
Do you want me to put you down Chris?
I do want to join. I am fine with whatever background and colors, but I honestly don't buy 30's reproductions. Pretty much any other types of fabrics will be good for me.
I opened a discussion for the reproduction swap. Come join us it will be fun.
I need a break from baby quilts occasionally lol.
I don’t know where to post this, so I will stick it here.
A few weeks ago I finally used seventeen of the butterfly blocks. They are not a quilt...they are flitting around as a shower curtain in my guest bathroom. They really are pretty. Not a whole lot of space in there, so I won’t try for a picture. Still I have finished something besides masks. Yay!
Oh, Jean! I wanna see! That sounds so fun! There haven't been many finishes in the butterfly swap!
I have been making masks too. Sure would love to see your curtain! And what a cool idea!
